A Few Favorite Finds of 2011

I did SO much reading this year, so I took the time to hand-pick a few blogs that I justdiscovered in 2011.
There are so many,
but I chose to share 7 of many

creative, inspiring, and noteworthy blogs
that I enjoyed this year.

………………………………………..
He writes about doing meaningful work, living a fun and adventurous life, and becoming the best version of yourself possible.  His posts are simple, clear, yet remarkable.

If you’ve gone through life pursuing a variety of interests, if you’ve ever felt uneasy about choosing one career path, then Puttylike is for you.  Emilie will teach you to successfully smoosh all your interests together and set yourself apart.

Jeff writes inspiring articles about writing, getting published, the creative process, and making a difference.  He also published a manifesto this year that anyone who loves to write will be sure to resonate with.  It’s well worth the short read.  You can pick it up here.

Michael Nobbs is an Artist living with ME/CFS and he writes about keeping life and Art simple through small creative acts done daily.

For 15 minutes a day and  6 days a week,  Joe Bunting is basically your free writing coach.  He posts thought-provoking content complete with a writing exercise for the day.

There is nothing I can type on my sad, unworthy, little laptop that would give this man a proper introduction.  Just know that he wrote the most inspiring book I read this year - War of Art.  And when you’re done with that, you can proceed by reading Do the Work.

As a Pastry Chef, I can appreciate food as Art.  Carrolluna.com is a sweet place where food, music, and art – as Carrol says – are one and the same.  And I completely agree!  This is not an ordinary food blog.  It’s creative, artistic, and unique.  There’s food.  There’s music.  There’s inspiration.  And let’s get real – we can’t create if we don’t eat.

So, there you have it.  I’m sure I missed a few good ones,
but I plan on posting more good finds, periodically.
In the meantime, you’re welcome to add to the list.

Both of the Steven Pressfield books you mentioned are so powerful that I have to read them every year. I look forward to checking out the other bloggers mentioned.
