In the spirit of Taking a Breather From the Hellish Land of Statistics Assignment and Study, here are two names I am loving at the moment.
This name is gaining some popularity; birth announcements occasionally surprise me. However, the most frequent comments made by people who wouldn’t use the name is “It sounds too literary”/”It sounds pretentious” or some combination of the two.
Most people who did high school English are aware of where this probably stems from: Atticus Finch, one of the characters in Harper Lee’s Too Kill A Mockingbird.
According to Wiki:
It’s a tradition that on the day before Halloween, we turn a regular ole pumpkin into a Jack O’Lantern.
It was Petie’s turn this year. He wanted to do something different he said, so our Mom went out and bought some magazines for him to get ideas from.
Well, he looked and he looked and he looked and, finally, he found just what he wanted to do.
He was a bit nervous doing this himself, so Tricia and I said we would be there to help (though Tricia stayed in the background, because she didn’t want to get covered in pumpkin goop when it was time to take out the insides).
